This week was an interesting one. Lots of traveling but a whole lot of fun. I made the trip up to Toronto with my wife to have a little mini working vacation. We had the city of Toronto planned as well as a few stops on the way home, Niagara Falls as well as Cooperstown. It was a great trip, but the one of the main reasons we went up was to cover the Red Sox play the Blue Jays as Southcreek has had trouble getting me into Fenway Park as its a small park with limited areas for photographers. Let alone they are a major market and have a major media following. I am going to bide my time to get into Fenway, just hope I can get there before the 2012 season as Fenway will be turning 100 that year and I would love to be covering the events of Opening Day as well as the rest of the year!!!
I covered all three games for the series and what a series it was. Game one a blow out, game two was a game of hit by pitches and ejections, and game three was a pitchers game.
On to the photos as they will show how much fun I had!!
There was a great light late in the game on Friday, I was lucky enough to be on the right side to catch it. The sun broke through and put some pretty nice light on the CN Tower!!

Of course I wasn’t just there for the sights, made some nice action shots as well!

Red Sox fans do like to travel. They support their team anywhere they go!!

We had an ejection in this game. Casey Janssen argued about a call late in the game, which was in favor of the Red Sox. As you can see here he lost the argument.

Game two had a different feel as it was a day game and it was pretty hot. But it still led to some nice photos here are a few.

Game three was an interesting one as the dome had a malfunction and made for an interesting photo opportunity. I didn’t know it at the time otherwise I would have shot a few images of the dome not being fully open. Most of the photographers thought the Jays did it to keep the fans cool. Guess we were wrong! Anyways led to some nice images as the pitching mound to behind home plate was even light therefore not to much shadow under the ball caps!!

I hope you enjoyed my coverage of the Red Sox vs Blue Jays, I had a blast. Hopefully I can get out to Fenway some time this year!!
Also as a side note, I will be teaching a youth sports photography class to any amateur/beginner photographer. Please visit www.thesopha.com for more details. It will be held in NH, if you are interested in doing one in MA or CT please don’t hesitate to ask about a one on one session or a group session. I am always looking to help aspiring photographers.
