Photos of the Week for Jun 14th to June 20th

June is the end of an era for some students. Many high school seniors are graduating at this time of year, and I have captured a few ceremonies. I have witnessed the quick and slow ones, a little over an hour and some almost 3 hours. Some great speakers and speeches as well as some not so great. This one at RHAM High School in CT was a great one. Nice and quick around 1.5 hours and had some great speeches. Here are a few images from the event.

I like finding different locations to shoot from. This one above was from behind the staff section which was right behind the podium. I used the heads to frame the speaker, John McVeigh, a World renowned Opera singer and jewelry maker, 1n ’88 RHAM grad.

Was moving around behind the grads and saw this view and just had to make a photo of it. The American flag and the mortar board with the “Can you dig” just worked for me!!

Some schools allow some fun, here the kids as well as the teachers sprayed silly string all around. It made a huge mess, luckily it didn’t get on my new lens the Nikon 24-70 f2.8. Long story on that one, better for another time, but lets just say you can’t always trust your belt packs when holding your gear. At least make sure that you double check to make sure things are secure….
