Once again another busy week with a wide variety of photo opportunities. Ranging from various HS sports, Corporate Annual meetings, HS band and chorale concerts, Gymnastics State Championships as well as an engagement session on the weekend. With that in mind since this is supposed to be about the photos of the week I will be posting a few images from various events this week! Another fun week, some rain but mostly sun, it was a great one for photography. I had a lot of fun with the many 100s of miles in between many of the jobs, but in the end everything got done and with a high quality manner.
I started the week off with baseball, which during warmups a downpour came in but quickly was away in about 5-10 minutes. Made for some interesting light when the sun started to peak out from the clouds!

The following day I was all over the place, corporate event in the morning, lacrosse in the afternoon then a HS concert in the evening, an hour plus away from the lacrosse!! Luckily it was closer to home so I was able to get home at a reasonable time.

You’ll begin to notice that I am starting to shoot a little tighter when looking at my galleries as well as a few images on my latest blog posts. I am liking the look I am getting when not always catching the whole action and just the facial expressions with some action. Yes I am still shooting a wide variety of images but I think I will continue to shoot tighter. Guess that means I might be looking for a 400 f2.8 in the near future, we shall see.

When photographing a offensive/defensive sport like lacrosse, football, hockey, basketball, etc, I always like when there is some conflict going on, ie like in this image with the girl with the ball is trying to break through the 2 defenders. It adds to the image rather than a person carrying the ball in open space.
Finished my HS sports week with some girls tennis. Unfortunately many teams don’t allow photographers on or near the court during the matches, some even require a 10 foot buffer from the fences. This makes photographing tennis really difficult, and therefore I capture images while they are warming up. Its not easy to catch some great action, but sometimes you do!

Another great week down, many more to come!!
