Its been another pretty long week, had a few shoots and every one made each previous day tougher to pick a POTW for this week. Long story short I ended up picking something I don’t shoot that often, but I have a whole lot of fun doing. This weeks POTW is from a High School Band Concert, this one was a Chorale and Orchestra event.
The chorus and band were great. I am always happy when I can hear a good show, also helps me to photograph it in the right state of mind!
Here are a few more shots that didn’t quite make the cut for being this week’s POTW.
Shot a couple of different sports this week including a JV and Varsity soccer game. It was overcast and led to some pretty good light, but the sun came out late in the game and really brought on some great light!
Shot volleyball for what seems like the 100th time this year, not that I am complaining, it can lead to some really fun and great shots!
Also had a team day but first was the Senior Picnic, I showed up earlier than I needed to so I could get some action from the picnic, as I covered the event last year for the yearbook company I shoot for, anyways I knew they did a pie eating contest, was glad I got there early, had a front row view for a few people smashing pies in each others face, I got a little over spray on my sweatshirt, but the camera is ok!
Last but not least I shot a Cheerleading competition for another photographer friend, tested out the strobes I came into a while back and they performed like a champ. Needed to dial them down a little bit as I didn’t want to over tax them as I shot over 500 photos in a 2 hour period! Very happy it worked out well, and made things really tough to pick a Photo of the Week for this week, hope you all agree! I know it could have been any of them!
