Happy New Year January 1st 2009 POTD

I have been doing some thinking and I have one lens that hasn’t been utilized for what it is meant for. My 50mm f1.8 Nikkor. I normally use it in low light gyms so I am able to get the shutter speed high enough to capture some action. Well the 50 f1.8 is pretty well known for portrait work, well its bigger brother the 50 1.4 and the 85 1.4 are very well known Portrait lenses, with the latter known as the “Cream Machine”(creates a very nice background for portraiture).

I decided to make my first post of the year of our 5 month old (or so) kitten “D” AKA Dora, Devil, Dee Dee, Deedles, etc. Anyways without further adieu I present to you “D”s portrait.
